Obituary for Aaron Ray Tippetts

Aaron Ray Tippetts, age of 72, passed away at his home, with family present, in Parowan, Utah on January 29, 2022. He was born May 30th 1949 to Ivan Koeven Tippetts and Mary Alice McCabe in Springville Utah in a small Doctor office off of 400 South. Aaron was raised in Springville until the age of 13 when they relocated to Las Vegas Nevada where his father got a job teaching shop and Rancho High School. Aaron also attended and graduated from Rancho high school. He was a star wrestling champ, going to State numerous times. After graduating he met and married the love of his life, Joan F. Gaines. Together they had 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls. He was a master Plumber and owned Aaron Tippetts Plumbing Company for about 27 years. Many of his children worked in the family business. The couple lived in Las Vegas till well after all the children were grown and married with their own families. After they both retired, Aaron and Joan then moved in 2007 to Parowan Utah. Aaron was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved his membership. Aaron faithfully held many positions in the church but by far his most favorite and where part of his heart will always remain was with all the Deacons he served with. He gained many more sons in those callings. He is preceded in death by his oldest daughter Michelle and youngest son Jared. Aaron maintained a close relationship with Jared’s wife Paula till the very end. To say that Aaron was a hard work would be the ultimate understatement. Aaron had an amazing gift of loving each of his children in unique and special ways and they all knew their dad loved them. One of his grandchildren said, “even with oxygen on, grandpa works harder than anyone out there and every time”.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, his daughters Allyson (Marty) Mickelson, Zina (Gene) Canfield, Erica (Aaron) Townsend, Paula (widow of Jared); his sons’ Rodger (Stacie), Anthony (Kelly), and Aaron Jr. (Mindy), and 34 grandchildren and 5 great children.
Funeral services will be held Saturday Feb. 5th, 2022, at the Parowan 5th ward (59 south 100 west) at 12:00 pm. A visitation will be held in the 3/4th ward building 99 south main street from 10-11:30.
