On Monday, January 9, 2023, Alan Hyatt Crawford passed away at age 76. Alan was born in Cedar City, Utah on December 16, 1946 to Dan and Helen Crawford. He and his wife, Gail Callison were married on September 21, 1973 in the St. George temple and are the parents of four children. He lived his entire life in Cedar City except for a 2 year mission in Mexico City for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He graduated from SUSC (now SUU) with a degree in accounting, and owned Crawford Motors for over 40 years. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in a variety of callings, including leadership and teaching positions.

Alan earned his pilot's license when he was 22 years old, later his commercial pilot’s license, and enjoyed flying for both business and pleasure. He had an incredible depth of vehicle knowledge, enjoyed restoring old classics, and could tell you the make and model of every car going the opposite direction at 60 mph. His sense of humor kept everyone laughing and lightened the mood when things were down. He especially enjoyed speaking Spanish and interacting with the Spanish community. He enjoyed taking his family on vacations (often to Lake Powell), spending time with his grandchildren, and was a tremendous strength to his immediate and extended family.

Alan is survived by his wife, Gail, his children Chad (Cristy), Julie (TC) Erkelens, Scott (Teasha) and Lori (Evan) Edwards, and his siblings, Gail (Lynn dec.) Bunker, Glen (Paula), Kerry, Curtis (Anna), Renee (Mike) Stucki, and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, 1:00 PM at the Greens Lake Chapel, 1120 West Greens Lake Drive, Cedar City, Utah. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location, and Saturday from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM before the funeral. Interment will be at the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Heartlight Funeral Services.
