Obituary for Amy Joelle Knowlton (Harshbarger)

On Friday, September 11, 2020, Amy Joelle Harshbarger Knowlton, a devoted mother of three, passed away at the age of 40. A friend to everyone she met, with a beautiful smile and loving spirit, Amy was born in Burlingame, California on August 8, 1980 to Tom Harshbarger and Susan Harshbarger. One of four sisters, she grew up in Taylorsville, Utah.

An evangelical Christian, she had a very close relationship with God. She received a bachelor of science degree in social work from the University of Phoenix, and had worked as the Community Outreach Coordinator at Youth Futures, a homeless shelter in Ogden.
Recently, she opened a gift shop and launched an ATV rental business in Duck Creek Village, as well as taking courses to be a realtor.

Children were her life— she adored her own, and loved to care for and help other children as well. Amy enjoyed teaching Sunday School at Alpine Church, staying involved with her children’s school activities, and giving English instruction to children in China virtually. She volunteered in the community, particularly with the church’s outreach center.

For fun, Amy loved to be outdoors, particularly hiking and gardening, and going on adventures to new places. She enjoyed watching old movies, and loved to write. Amy was artistic, talented with interior design, and was a great singer. She adored the holidays, especially Christmas.

Preceeded in death by her father, she is survived by her mother; significant other Ashley; children Chase, Adreana, and Ajla, and her sisters Lisa, Sara, and Lori. Her family knows we will all be together someday, and her physical passing is only temporary. They are grateful for the privilege of being a part of her beautiful life, and love her more than she will ever know.
