Obituary for Susan Zorn Ethel Ebersole (Zorn)

Susan Zorn Ebersole passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2020. She was born in Philadelphia, PA to Edward A. Zorn, Jr. and Ethel M. Zorn. Raised in Abington, PA, she was a champion diver and swim coach at the Valley Club, later developing a youth swimming program at a new YMCA in Hatboro, PA. She was selected as a high school exchange student spending a summer in Denmark. After high school, she found use riding her Kawasaki motorcycle to develop her first career as a newspaper photographer for the Daily Intelligencer. She graduated from Temple University with a degree in communication arts. She excelled on the Temple volleyball team, memorably defeating the Japanese national team in one competition. Relocating to Huntington Beach, CA, she worked as a business executive in Brazil, commuting monthly. She became certified as a real estate agent, practicing in California and later on Long Beach Island, NJ where she relocated. She met and married Tim Ebersole and began raising their three daughters in Brownsville, TX where they operated a medical office consulting business. He was the love of her life, they were an inseparable pair, and the triplets were the light of their lives. Both volunteered with AmeriCorps VISTA which brought them to Cedar City, UT where they helped develop renewable energy sources for the community. In her sixties, Susan earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Salve Regina University. Susan was an outgoing woman who lived life with great zeal, always keeping in mind her family heritage. Notably this May 17, she enjoyed taking the girls to Las Vegas for dinner to celebrate their sixteenth birthday. Susan came to value interfaith church and community friendships, particularly those with friends and neighbors belonging to the LDS Church. She was truly appreciative of those in the church who helped her and Tim and the triplets to cope as life left both months apart. Susan is survived by her son Dan (CA), four daughters Cathleen (CA), Caylee, Sharleena, and Jasmine, grandchildren Justin (TX) and Rianna (TX), brothers Edward (NJ) and Alan (PA) and sister Jill (NJ) as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband Timothy Edward Ebersole. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday July 8, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Cedar City Cemetery. There will also be a viewing at Affordable Funeral Services from 11:30 to 12:30 pm just prior to services.
