Obituary for Christopher Payne

Beloved husband, father, son, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend, Christopher Brian Payne, age 48, passed away on July 17, 2020 at his home in Cedar City, UT. Chris was born in Georgetown, SC. to Janet Denman and Gary Payne. He was the oldest of eight children.

As a child Chris loved camping at the lake and hunting as well as spending his summers with his family in Georgia. As Chris grew older, he found that he loved fixing things with his hands and made a living working as a Master Automotive Technician. Chris always loved spending time with his family, especially his mama. They played on numerous billiard teams together which is how he met his wife, JoAnne and began his family. He absolutely loved and adored being a father to Teyha and Virginia-Rose. As his daughters were growing up he never let the chronic pain he was struggling with from a debilitating work related injury stop him from being active in all their many activities, whether it was chaperoning in a class field trip, coaching one of their sports team, performing a dance routine with them at their dancing school recital, chauffeuring them around or cheering for them in the stands nothing brought him more joy then watching them grow into the smart young woman they are today.

He was preceded in death by his father Gary Huston Payne.

He is survived by his mother Janet Lee Anderson, His wife and friend, Joanne and his daughters Teyha Lee Anderson and Virginia-Rose Payne. Siblings Randy Payne, Len Payne, Andy (Amy) Anderson, Josh (Leslie) Anderson, Lisa Anderson, Reed Willcutt, Kimberly (Kyle) Williams, Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
