Obituary for David Eugene Larsen

David Eugene Larsen, born August 21, 1954, passed away unexpectedly on January 16, 2023.
Dave grew up in Murray, Utah with his two sisters. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the California San Bernardino South Mission. He studied at the University of Utah. He worked for Rocky Mountain Mechanical for his entire career of 44 years.
Dave married his soulmate, Heather Larsen on December 5, 2009. They were sealed for time and all eternity on August 20, 2022 in the Cedar City, UT temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They are best friends and soulmates. They have been blessed to have each other for the past thirteen years. They have had so many wonderful adventures together. It didn’t matter where they went, as long as they were together. Together they gardened and built a beautiful home. Dave was an expert gardener and made everything he touched more beautiful. He was an incredible fisherman and loved every aspect of fishing. He served faithfully in many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a genuine, loving example of our Savior to all he met and he will be deeply missed.
Dave married Jean Shaw on September 10, 1976; they later divorced. Together they raised five daughters. Dave taught his daughters to fish and took them on many adventures and trips. He was their first introduction to Disneyland. He was always up for fun. There wasn’t a performance or game that he missed. He was always there cheering on his daughters. He taught his girls to work hard and instilled a desire to strive for excellence. He had a beautiful testimony and truly knew, and loved, our Savior. We smile thinking about the beautiful reunion with his loving parents.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Nathan Eugene Larsen and Juene Townsend Larsen. He is survived by his adoring wife and best friend, Heather Larsen, his sisters, Judy Hall and Julene Tuft (Will), his daughters Angela Johnson (Lyman), Andrea George (Chad), Stacy Burggraaf (Billy), Lisa Sorensen, Erika Corado (Ever), his step-daughters Alexie Korhonen (Nic), Camilla Dourado, and Amanda Close (Russell), eleven loved grandchildren, Brayden Johnson, Alex George, Kelsi Johnson, Whitley George, Morgan George, Luke Johnson, Jade Burggraaf, Nixon Sorensen, Jeter Burggraaf, Paityn Sorensen, Jaxtyn Corado, and his dogs Scout and Gracie.
Funeral Services will be held on January 23, 2023 at 12 PM in the Fiddlers Canyon Ward (638 East Canyon Center Drive Cedar City, UT 84721.) A viewing from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM will be held at the same building just prior to services. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Heartlight Funeral Services.
