Heidi Weisenreder Peterson, age 67,was surrounded by her loving family when she went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 4, 2019 in Cedar City, Utah.
Born on March 7, 1952 in Clarkson, New York to Richard and Beverly Weisenreder, Heidi spent the majority of her childhood in Upstate New York and some years in La Mirada, California before marrying her eternal husband of 48 years, David Arthur Peterson. The newlyweds settled in Southern California where they raised their three beloved children. After graduating from UC Riverside with a bachelor’s degree in psychology she enjoyed a successful career with the IRS as an appeals officer.
Heidi was born with a tenacious spirit that, in cooperation with her generous heart, ushered her into many roles as a servant to others, both in personal and professional circles. As the caretaker of many, she is treasured by family and friends for her loyalty and perserverance. By her colleagues she is revered for her work ethic, dedication, and extraordinary intellect.
Throughout her life, Heidi was a devoted learner and reader. She shared her enthusiasm for learning with her children and grandchildren by organizing many trips and adventures for the family. Heidi remained enchanted by the beauty of the changing seasons from her childhood, including the snowy winters that many might consider severe or undesirable. One of her most recent adventures was the realization of a life-long dream to reunite with the divine artistry of God’s creation on grounds reminiscent of her early life in New York. In 2018, Heidi and David moved to Cedar City, Utah where Heidi enjoyed a sweet homecoming to a place of serenity before transitioning to her everlasting peace in heaven.
Heidi is survived by her husband of 48 years (David Arthur Peterson); her sons (Andrew and Richard); her daughter (Rebecca); and nine grandchildren.
The family is deeply grateful for the kindness and excellence of the medical community in Cedar City and St. George, Utah.
