James spent the first 5 years of his life in Milford and moved with his parents and 2 sisters to Salt Lake City. He grew up there learning dance ballroom from his Mother and being the typical little brother, irritating his sisters. James graduated from West High School. He went on to join the ROTC and spent time in Texas with the Army where he was honorably discharged.
James met Andra Sanders in St. George at Kelwood where they were both working. They were married May 12, 1973. Together they spent many hours helping others when a call for help was received. He will also be remembered by family and friends for the countless Saturdays spent on Cedar Mountain in search of “killer” wood and taking his 2 wheel drive ’72 ford where no sane person would. James was also a gifted mechanic who could fix almost anything.
James was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Andra; daughter Sonia (Klayton) Holt; 4 grandsons and 8 great-grandchildren, his sisters Evelyn Baker and Connie Jacobs and his nieces and nephews.
