Joseph Dilworth Armstrong, the only son of Elwin and Marva Armstrong passed away peacefully at the age of 85 due to luekemia on October 24th, 2021. He passed away in his home surrounded by family.
Dilworth, as most knew him, was born, raised and lived most of his life in Enoch, Ut. He served an LDS Mission in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Indianapolis, Indiana. He spent his life in service of God, family, friends, and community. After his mission he met and married Rhea Chidester until her passing in 2000. They adopted two children, Val and Mischel. In 2003 he met and married Cheryl Sherman. He loved his family unconditionally and was adored by children, grand children, and great grand children. He loved farming, gardening, fishing, hunting, woodworking, horsemanship, and taxidermy. He was a master gardener and grew fruits and vegetables in abundance because he loved sharing with friends, family, and neighbors. He was a gifted water witcher and he used his unique skill to locate many wells around Southern Utah. The City of Enoch honored him in the City's first official 4th of July parade for the contributions he made to the city and community. He served on the city council and water board. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many callings and positions. He lived his life as a shining example of how to treat other people with dignity, respect and kindness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Audrey Armstrong Birch and his first wife Rhea Chidester Armstrong. He is survived by his current wife Cheryl Sherman Armstrong, his two children Val Armstrong and Mischel Shipley, his 4 granchildren Keanen Fahey, Christina Chacon, Ashley Fabila and Stephanie Roberson. He is also survived by his five step children, 16 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at the LDS Church at 451 E. Midvalley Road, Enoch, Utah on Saturday October 30th, from 1:30 - 2:30 pm followed by a graveside service and interment at the Enoch City Cemetary,1580 East Sunrise Drive, Enoch, UT at 3:00 pm.
