Alice Joyce Rhodes Munford, 78, of Cedar City, Utah, passed away peacefully at home from a long battle with dementia and Parkinsons.
Joyce was born to George and Minnie Rhodes in Cedar City, Utah, on March 28, 1941. Joyce attended 12 years of school in Cedar City.
Joyce worked at Colemans for years. She also worked for Lin’s for 11 years, but most importantly to her, she was a wife and mother, first and always.
Joyce married her high school sweetheart, Kent Lyman Munford, on October 2, 1959. They lived in Parowan for 2 years, later moving to Cedar.
Joyce was an avid reader. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering, baseball, basketball, cooking, canning, gambling, and visiting with lifelong friends and siblings over coffee for hours. She loved playing games and coloring with her kids and grandkids. She loved it when her grandkids would come spend the weekends with her.
Joyce’s favorite holidays were Thanksgiving and Christmas, having family all together. Christmases, especially Christmas morning, all the grandkids would come over to eat Christmas breakfast and make a mess opening presents.
She enjoyed her luncheons with the 59ers, her graduating class. Joyce was the truest of best friends, always there when needed to help with kids or lend a helping hand or an ear to listen. She was willing to do anything for anyone.
Joyce was the most special of sisters to all her 11 siblings.
