Joyce married young and had 5 children. She later divorced and eventually remarried to Harry Vandever. They had a wonderful marriage, spending the biggest part of their lives together in Las Vegas, Nevada, where her two youngest children, Conrad Kirschner and Lisa Mclain also lived. After many hard working years, they both retired and were able to enjoy some peaceful years together. Some of their greatest adventures were traveling in their RV. Joyce loved traveling and enjoying her visits with family in many states, especially her daughter, Sandee Palluck, and family in Minnesota. She took great pride in her long fingernails that were always perfectly painted. Her first love was Elvis Presley. She celebrated her last birthday with a big party complete with an Elvis impersonator. She had the time of her life! Joyce lived a full life.
