Condolence: Kendall was a wonderful example of charity and kindness. His sincere concern and interest for others, combined with his quick wit and infectious personality, made him a fierce friend to many. He lifted those around him and would go out of his way to help others feel important and welcome.

In addition to his genuine kindness, Kendall possessed an infectious love of learning. Over the years, his example motivated my children to develop a deeper interest in science and technology. He made learning seem fun. He would frequently send us copies and photos of his latest experiments and ideas. Whenever we would visit, he would attempt to dazzle my kids with his latest invention. Whether it was a bubble tree or a black hole, they were always excited to see what he would come up with next.

While Kendall had many defining attributes, his ability to find humor in almost any situation is something my family and I will always remember. He seemed to find great joy in pulling pranks and telling painfully cheesy jokes. I will never forget the day we visited his home and I noticed a seemingly random pile of potato chips placed on one of his shelves. When I asked why they were there, he pointed out that he had placed them next to his fish bowl. Still confused, I confessed that I didn’t see the connection. He waited a moment, then his face broke into a smile as he proudly explained, “Fish and chips!” I tried to groan, but could only laugh. Classic Kendall.

To me, Kendall was more than an uncle. He was my friend. My family and I miss him very much. We, like many others, are truly better people because he was in our lives.

I miss you my friend.

Condolence: Of the many adventures experienced with "Z" is the epic hike from Kolob to LaVerkin Creek in 1971. There were a bunch of us, Kendall leading the pack. Many of us would've been lost on s hike so intense. Kendall was certainly home in the hills, he could get you anywhere and back safely.
