Obituary for LoRen Orton Lovell

LoRen “Ren” (Orton) Lovell, age 85, passed away at home on December 22, 2022 in Cedar City, Utah. She was born on October 27, 1937 to Loren and Dean (Bentley) Orton. LoRen raised in the beautiful Parowan, Utah. Being the youngest of five children, LoRen was the only child to be born in the Cedar City Hospital; while the four elder were born at home. She attended and graduated from Parowan High School being the youngest of her class. She went on to receive her Associate of Arts from CSU the former SUU in 1957. In the summers, Ren worked at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, which is where she met Brent Lovell. Brent and LoRen married in Parowan in 1957. They lived in various places starting in Logan, UT, while Brent finished school, spent time in Murray, UT, Atlanta, GA, and finally settled down in Pleasanton, CA for 30+ years and finding a family on Pinot Court. Together they were blessed with three children. Ren was active in her children’s lives by being a member of the PTA, soccer, Brownies, and church activities. Brent and LoRen along with dear friends owned Bella’s delicatessen and catering services in Pleasanton for 13 years. She later took over owning a book distributing company (B. Lovell Associates/ A+ Dictionary) after the death of her husband, Brent, in 1990. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church. She enjoyed laughing with friends and family, traveling, reading a good book, and quilting and cross stitch. LoRen was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four older siblings: Bryce, Sara (Black), Jerrolyn (Wilden), Jetta (Ashworth). Survived by daughter Lisa (Tom) Munson, Columbus,NE; and sons Jeremy (Ann) Lovell, Pleasanton, CA; and Russell Lovell, Cedar City, UT. Along with her three grandchildren Olivia Munson, Jered Lovell, and Jacob Lovell and members of the Lovell and Orton families. She will be missed by many beloved family and friends. We want to give a huge thanks to Hospice and Nurse Mandy for keeping her comfortable at the end. The family is planning on for a celebration of life in the spring.
