Obituary for Ranae P Painter

Ranae Peterson Painter, age 72, passed away peacefully at home with her husband by her side on June 15, 2021 in Cedar City, Utah. She was born October 22, 1948 in Sterling Utah to Doyle and Lucille (Chapman) Peterson.

As a young girl, Ranae and her family moved to Ogden, Utah, where she graduated from Ogden High School and furthered her education by attending Weber State University and received her Bachelor's Degree in Education.

In 1972 Ranae met the love of her life John, they married a year later in Elko Nevada. Together John and Ranae built a strong foundation and raised six children three boys and three girls.

Ranae's passion for teaching was known by all that knew and loved her. She spent many years touching the lives of elementary students at Kaysville, Sunset and Clinton elementary schools.

Her sense of style gained her the title of the family fashionista. She was always on point with her fashion from head to toe including her nail polish colors. We all loved her excitement as she showed us her endless collections of clothes, jewelry, shoes and purses. She created several memories with her sister, Merilyn, on their shopping sprees where the two of them could run circles around us all with their energy. And of course we will always cherish her "outfit of the day" pictures.

Ranae was amazingly talented with her painting, scrapbook and singing, she loved to sing her favorite nursery rhymes she learned from her mom with her kids and grandkids. She had many hobbies that filled her days such as watching her favorite cooking shows, soap operas, sifting through countless catalogs, and keeping up with the latest celebrity gossip.

Ranae's pride and joy was her family. Ranae and her sweetheart just celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. There are forever memories in those years, one we will never forget is the love and dedication they had for each other. She lived each day by spreading her smile and sparkle for her kids and grandkids. There was never a celebration to small that she didn't beam about, and loved sharing stories to anyone that she could.

She was are our pillar, our light, our source of all that we are. We will forever miss her warm embrace, her tender hand across our cheeks. Her sweet giggle will be etched into every moment of everyday until we see her again.

Ranae was preceded in death by her parents, Doyle and Lucille and her bothers, Ron and Marlow. She is survived by her husband John; sons: Gabe (Amy), Jamie, and Shane (Cesar); daughters: Amanda, Angie (Jordan), and Megan; her sister, Merilyn (Gary); 11 grandkids; and nieces and nephews.
