Obituary for Robert Frank Martinez

Robert (Bob) Frank Martinez, age 70, entered into rest on August 17, 2021 at his
home in Cedar City, Utah. He was born on November 1st, 1950 in Kenilworth, Utah to
Thomas and Josephine Martinez.
Robert was raised in Price, Utah and graduated from Carbon High School in 1969. He
then went on to earn his Associates Degree from CEU and his Bachelor’s Degree from
SUU.
Bob met Ann, the love of his life, in 1976 and married her in 1978. They enjoyed 45
years together with their kids and grandkids. Bob served in the Utah Army National
Guard and had a long career as a commercial plumber.
Bob has always had a passion for hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. As an avid
hunter, he loved Springer Spaniels and hunting pheasants in the fall with his sons,
Bobby and Nate, and his friends. When deer and elk season came around, he was
rarely found at home and could often be seen hiking and driving his Jeep through the
mountains of Southern Utah with his wife, sons, and grandchildren at his side. When
he was not hunting, he was hiking or fishing and loved reeling in Stripers on Lake
Powell.
Bob absolutely adored his grandchildren and made every effort to attend all their
sporting events and family get-togethers that allowed him to be with them. His
grandkids loved playing and being with him, and often asked, “Can we go to Grandpa
Bob’s?” They loved playing with cars together, collecting rocks, having tea parties,
and going to the park.
Bob is survived by his wife, Ann; his children, Frankie Addison, Nicki (Trevor) Mann,
Robert (Shandi) Martinez, and Nathan (Jacey) Martinez; and his 8 grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Josephine Martinez, and his
sister, Margie Fitzgerald.
There will be a viewing and Rosary Monday, August 23rd from 6-8 pm with the Holy
Rosary prayed together at 7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 24th
at 11:30 am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 690 S Cove Dr, Cedar City, UT 84720.
