Obituary for Rod Emron Fenn Sr.

In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.
—ABRAHAM LINCOLN

Rod Emron Fenn Senior, 67, of New Harmony, Utah, passed away tragically in a truck accident on May 20, 2021.

Rod was born on December 30, 1953 in Whittier, CA to Boyd and Della Fenn. He grew up in a loving home with 6 siblings, including a set of triplets, to play with in California. He attended school in Bellflower, CA where he graduated with the class of 1972. During his time in school, he met Debra Allen. This was the first chapter in his life story that soon brought him new titles, husband and then dad. He became the loving parent to four children: Melissa, Rod Junior, Cristina, and Ryan. In his next chapter he met Maxine and became the loving parent to his fifth child, Justin. In his third chapter he met and married Rebecca Filmore and became a loving father to her children, Amber and Ashley.

One of Rod’s biggest accomplishments was being a father. He had always wanted children and considered himself lucky to be called dad by 5. His children called their dad their hero and even as adults, still see him that way. He lived life to the fullest without any fears and taught them to enjoy every moment life has to offer. He packed every second of life into the 67 years he was here with us. He loved traveling the open road, whether it was in his truck, on his Harley, or on one of his favorite horses at the Fenn Ranch. Rod never knew a stranger and could always be found with a smile on his face. He had a unique way of making you feel like you were the most important person in the world the moment he saw you.

Rod was preceded in death by his mother, Della Fenn, and uncle, Wayne Fenn. Rod's saga will forever continue through each of his kids and grandkids. Left to share his story are his five children, Melissa (Nathan) Mahon, of Keosauqua, IA, Rod Fenn of West Melbourne, FL, Cristina Watkins (Mike) of Dora, MO, Ryan (Laura) Fenn of Vail, AZ, and Justin (Reanna) Fenn of Fountain, CO; twelve grandchildren, Harrison, Lincoln, and Kennedy Mahon, Kyrra Fenn, Dora and Harley Watkins, Joshua, Rachel, Lilian, and Abigail Fenn, and Ariana and Justin Fenn Junior; six siblings, Stan (Debbie) Fenn of Buena Park, CA, Carla Fenn-Babbitt of Yucaipa, CA, Jolene (Dale) Heit of Cedar City, UT, Jeff (Debbie) Fenn of Corona, CA; Jan (Seth) Sorenson of Elwood, UT, Jay Fenn of Cedar City, UT, and father, John Boyd Fenn of New Harmony, UT, as well as many extended family and friends.
