Obituary for Ronald Ray Meachum

Ronald Ray Meachum was welcomed into his Savior’s arms on August 18, 2021. He was a blessing to many during his 68 years of life. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 39 years, Yvonne, his children: Tyler (Megan), Jenna (Benjamin), Levi (Becky), and his seven grandchildren. He is joining his mother and step-father, Betty Lou and Mark “Bob” Dotson, and brothers Mark and James.

He was born to LaVerne Meachum and Betty in Ogden, Utah. He was raised in Milford, Utah by Bob and Betty. He was one of 8 siblings: Lawrence, Mark, John, Israel, Matthew, James, and sister Kita. He graduated from Milford High School, Front Range Community College with an associates degree, and Southern Utah University with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and a minor in Journalism.

Ron made a home for his family in Parowan, Utah for the last 32 years. He started as a miner, and became a treasure hunter extraordinaire. He was also a passionate patriot and Army veteran. His love for the outdoors was shared with his children and grandchildren, teaching them to camp, fish, carve wood, and take care of the birds. He was a man of “Many Hats,” literally and figuratively, and he brought many smiles to this world with his quirky sense of humor and kind nature.

Join the remembrance and celebration of Ron’s life on September 7, 1:00pm at Grace Christian Church. Followed by a graveside military service at 2:30pm at Parowan Cemetery.
