Russell Carter Feller passed away on March 23, 2023 of stage-4 lung cancer. He was 61 years old. Russ was the youngest son of George and Mary Lou Feller. He was born in St. George, Utah, living on Diagonal Street in Sandtown. He attended East Elementary, the Woodward, and Dixie High School. He graduated from Dixie High School with the class of 1979, where he served as Class President. He served an LDS mission to Nagoya Japan. Upon his return from his mission, Russ attended Dixie College and graduated with an Associate’s degree in Business in 1984. He served on the executive council while in college. He also served for 35 years on the Dixie College Alumni Association. He married Janell West on June 22, 1984. They bought a home in Sandtown off 500 West, where they started their family.

Russ went into business with his father George Feller and brother Allen Feller. Together they owned Feller Stone. They were able to travel to many cities across the United States selling their rock in the pet industry as well as in the building and landscape industries. They were also able to travel across Europe and other countries to sell their rock products. Russ also served for 8 years on the World Wide Pet Association.

Russ was a great Scouter. He received many awards in Scouting, earning his Eagle rank as a youth, the 2nd Miler Award, and a Silver Beaver Award. He was a leader in Scouting, running many Woodbadge, Timberline, and ELI leadership trainings. He served as Scout Master many times and loved to teach in all capacities. He also ran the Order of the Arrow, an elite Scout group in which he taught the 22 hoop Indian dance, which he learned from his father and brothers.

Russ had many callings in his church, including Young Mens president, Stake Young Men’s President, Bishop of the Dammeron Valley Ward, Stake High Councilman, Gospel Doctrine teacher, and Primary teacher. Russ loved to share the Gospel with everyone he met. He was kind and generous to all whom he met.

Russ loved to hunt with his boys. He enjoyed traveling, working, and serving others. He was a friend to all who knew him. Through the years, Russ loved to take others into his home through the foreign exchange student program and the Navajo Indian Reservation Program.

Russ is survived by: his wife Janell; their four children: Joshua (Stacy), Samuel (Kaylin), Julia (Brady) Vincent, and Joseph; and their twelve grandchildren: Wesley, Daniel, Bailey, Kelsy, Aiden, Siena, Ava, Samson, Nicole, Clara, Jocilynn, and Jaxten.

Russ loved his children and grandchildren more than life itself. He loved celebrating their birthdays, taking them for ice cream, to Veyo pool, and to the park. His dream was to retire in Pine Valley, his favorite place besides home. He will be greatly missed by our family. Gone too soon. The love of my life.

Russ is also survived by his siblings: Evelyn Despain (Steve), Wilford (Debbie), Allen (Sheri), David (Jolyn), and Doris Tsosie (Al).

A service to celebrate Russ's life will be held on Saturday, April 8th. Visitation will be held at the St George North Stake Center in Diamond Valley from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m., with the service starting at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Veyo Cemetery under the direction of Heartlight Affordable Funeral Services.
