Warren L Rigby, age 84, passed away April 20, 2023 due to heart failure. He was born on October 24, 1938, and raised in Cedar City, Utah.

Beneath a rugged exterior Warren had a soft heart and lived his life serving others. After completing a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints he joined the Army in 1961, was a military policeman and in the 101 st Airborne Division. In 1969 he graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Forest Science with a minor in Botany and Forest Recreation. While attending college, Warren met and married Ardis Daly. Together they had seven children and a life of adventure as his career with the National Park Service took them to parks across the United States. Warren’s life roles included federal law enforcement, fire fighter, paramedic, search and rescue and an ever-faithful and contributing member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. A friend to anyone in need, he could always be counted on to help.

Warren was preceded in death by his brother Bruce Rigby, and their parents, Eldro and Zina Rigby.

Warren is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ardis D. Rigby and their children Christy (Michael) Tautfest, Curtis Rigby, Verl (Anita) Rigby, Teresa (Marcy DeMillion) Rigby, Sarah Rigby, Lorelei (John) McFarlin, Nathan (Annie) Rigby, 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sister Sharon Jones and brother Floyd (Claire) Rigby as well as many other relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at the Cedar City 20 th Ward at 11am. Family and friends may call that morning from 9:30 am – 10:30 am at the church. The service will be live streamed via Zoom: https://us04web.zoom.us/j/5189493335
